Happy New Year

• It's the time of the year again
  
• It's the time of the year where we say good bye to a previous year and welcome a new year
  
• It's the time of the year where we send a lof up money in the air on rockets
  
• It's the time of the year where we greet each other a happy new year
  
• And it's the time of the year where we think about how the previous year was, and how the new year will be
  

With one word that can explain 2020, I would use the following year: dramatic. Which word would you use?
The reason I want to use the word dramatic is that it has been a dramatic year for the world. Over 1,8 million people have died over the whole world because of Covid. It's been a dramatic year. We all probably know someone who were either infected, or someone who died, or know someone who knows someone who died.

But how has covid affected and been Mini Games Server? Country after country started closing down. People lost their jobs, people had to stay home, and didn't attend to school like they used to be. This affected us by our player count raising. We started having more players again, and the server going really good. But things never last too long in sa-mp.. We had some rough months too, but now we're back again to normal, which I'm happy with.

This has been the first year that we're alone again. Standing on our own feets, and just having one server to focus on. After we sold both eXM & **, then we had to learn to stand on our own feets again. Build up the Management Team again with new tasks, and tasks that only involve one server. Honestly I miss the times when we were all together, as I liked it and it was good for the community. But we are where we are, and there ain't much we can do about it. My focus is Mini Games Server, and it will remain my focus for as long as we are here. 

Looking back at how 2020 has been for Mini Games Server has been then we can resume up the following:
We started the year by closing down EXP-Gaming. Our community. We shut down IRC, ZNC, CS:GO, Minecraft and teamspeak. Now it's only Mini Games Server, and our platform is the forum & discord. 7 years we had Exp-Gaming, and it was definitely good as long as it lasted.

We also did changes to the Respected Player system. Focus on having real Respected Players, instead of players achieving a rank by score. It works better now, and I like the system way better. That's also the impression I've got from others.

Mini Games Server also turned 11 years, and we are getting older by each year. Will our next goal be 15 years? We can hope! It's just 3 more years.

Marketing Department was also added this year. It's a team who helps me with designing and marketing the server so it looks better for our viewers and guests. New homepage and new user control panel. that I'm proud of. Our colors and theme are more visible now with our colors red and white.


When we are moving on now, and looking into 2021 then I wish I could say that I know will happend, but I don't. We don't know what will happend with sa-mp as the sa-mp owner has clearly left, as both the sa-mp wiki & sa-mp forum has been shut down. At the same time UG:MP is opening up, and so is open:mp. So we got options - luckly!

By these words then I want to wish you all a happy new year! Are you shooting up fireworks, then remember safty is important! If you are drinking alcohol and sending up rockets, then you definitely should think safety! I hope that 2021 will be our year, and your year. The year we will get our wishes filled, and Covid will die.
