Happy new year - Beremix - 12-31-2013

Hello

2013 is about to end, for me it's 24 hours left of 2013 and 24 hours left untill I will send up some rockets and celebrate a good year in 2013 and hope to get a better year in 2014. Below now is a summary of good and bad things which happened during 2013. These are things we should be proud over, and things we should work more on.
  • _Rub_ just rejoined as manager after a time of inactivity and now he's working full time for MG. Due to constantly irc.tl downtimes we managed to move and create our own irc server at Exp-Gaming, the community owned by MichaelBelgium and Beremix.

  • Volt-Host was becoming small and too much expensive for us, so we moved to a VPS, where we are able to manage everything about MG and everything that rotates inside it (website, irc server).

  • The 31/01/2013 Sa-Mp team released 0.3x version of Sa-Mp, and we converted the MG script to this version (the latest atm), having great increase of performances, less lag and less sync problems too.

  • We managed to run the MG maps at a normal cicle basis, every game was rotating after the next one, so we introduced the Voting System, where players are able to vote their own maps ingame and play the most voted one.

  • C-Bug was removed and this caused some ragequits and few discussions. Everytime a player tried to c-bug a warn was sent and players started to hate it, so we did a survey to decide if c-bug had to be allowed or not, players voted for allowing the c-bug. So c-bug was re-allowed ingame.

  • The 2013 was the year of the "Helper System" too, but had short life, this system was not used as expected so got removed after doing a survey in the forum.

  • While the days in MG was going forward over and over...due to the week downtime in February and for some other reasons, MG got a huge player base drop, which caused the server to be empty even at the most "hot" hours of the day. So we decided to clear ALL bans except permanent ones.

  • About the games part, the WHOLE games list has been reviewed and remade from 0, allowing us to have more control on the games list.

  • Sadly, this year was not always full of happy memories. Dimi left the staff due to his busy life causing a big loss for the staff and for the whole MG.

  • Old games have been returned, the most epic ones are still here, new and old. Old MG 2010/2011/2012 games are now back, ready to be enjoyed again.

  • About the games, we reached 100+ playable games allowing the players to have unlimited hours of fun.

  • New gametypes have been introduced, such as "Derby", where players have to fight not with the weapons, but with the car. Is a last man standing in a car, the one who will remain alive will win the fight. Always inside a car, obviously.

  • New players coming, old players quitting, new players staying, old players too. Based on this, we deleted 45.000 inactive/double accounts in December.

  • Old staff and new staff was combined in just one pair of ties, some members of them have been demoted or quit, some new players are now admins or moderators, and some admins/moderators are now normal players. We did a fully reset on the staff team, re-organized everything.

  • The donations with PayPal was a good idea, i'd say perfect, but still few countries doesn't support PayPal payments yet, so we introduced PayGol payments, where you can donate for the server just using your mobile phone credit. Accessible to anyone from every country.

  • Well, this is all (at least from me). 2013 was a good year for MG with few bad things as well.

  • Hoping 2014 will be better and more awesome, we'll keep working hard for you, for letting you enjoy MG in all of it's parts. This is our job, we are here to serve you.

These are things we are proud over and things we are less proud over. I'm happy to say: We are a familiy, and we've been a familiy since 2009. In 5 days we are turning 2 years old. 2 years since Mini Games Server v2 started. After the closing of MG V1 I never though about reopening MG. Untill Zezima spoke with me and Dimi and we decided to reopen it. I'm glad we did as it has given us some great moments and more friends to our familiy.
  • I am proud to say, that during 2 years we've had over 130.000 registered users. That's a good achievement.
  • And that we have received over 400 euro in donations. That's alot and it has helped MG alot. Donations are always welcomed in our server and we appreticate them. As it helps the server running smoother. It's not like I don't have money to host the server, as I do and in 2014 I will earn even more than I did this year. But donations makes it easier for me as I don't have to spend money on MG always as I got other important things in real life too.
  • Over 50.000 cookies has been given out by an admin. That means there was over 50.000 good actions. Which makes me happy to hear.
  • There is alot of things I'm proud over. I'm proud to be owner of this server, and to work together with my fellow team and all of you. It's you who are keeping the server up, not me.

But if we look into 2014, what can we expect of this year?
  • I do know that the new ucp is almost ready and it's getting better for each time I work on it. This means we will soon release the new ucp Smile
  • We started working on v29.0.0, and we've setted some goals for this version which are: new features, fix more bugs and make the server better playable. Included in this there is an achievement system which you've all been waiting for in a while. I'm glad to say that achievement system has officially been started on.
  • As we made the scripter team now, then I hope to make the game scripting faster again and to get more games. We got 118 games now, our goal to December 2014 is 200 games. We can reach this and we will!
  • More stuff and more changes are to be done. We will work on this server, this community and make it good.

I'm proud to be a part of this server and to be the owner. By these words I wish you all a happy new year and I hope you will stay with us during 2014 too.
